Inside the system / 01

The commercial model was part of the operating system

Finding a store was only the beginning. The next challenge was turning interest into an arrangement that put the product on its shelves. Noah pitched consignment, then aimed to transition to cash on delivery if the arrangement went well.

This created a progression from an initial stockist relationship to a different purchasing arrangement. It joined the prospecting workflow to the practical work of selling physical products, rather than treating an email reply as the end of the process.

Retail reach and named arrangements

Jolt expanded into hundreds of stores across Canada and the United States. It secured consignment arrangements with 7-Eleven Canada and Macs Convenience Canada, and collaborated on co-branded products with major Canadian tobacco and cannabis brands.

The independent-store workflow was one part of that broader retail business. The national-chain consignment arrangements and co-brand collaborations describe the company’s wider commercial reach.

Inside the system / 03

Human decisions around a physical product

Noah’s direct sales calls were one route from qualification to a consignment pitch. The subsequent transition depended on the relationship performing well; it was not described as an automatic change after a fixed number of days.

This progression connected initial placement with an ongoing stockist relationship. Noah’s work extended from finding an opening for the product to developing the commercial arrangement over time.
