Better Way CPA / Business overview
2021–2022Recorded work
Nested reports.
Readable spreadsheets.
Accounting reports carry more than numbers. Account groups, detail rows, subtotals and presentation all need to survive the journey from QuickBooks into a client-ready spreadsheet.

From financial data
to a usable report.
Better Way CPA is the accounting-client project documented in five Loom recordings. The work focused on turning QuickBooks report data into spreadsheets that preserved the report’s hierarchy and the client’s desired formatting.
The challenge crossed two layers: interpreting nested report data and reliably writing it into a presentation template. It also required addressing client-specific connections and differences between development and client environments.

- QuickBooks report
Retrieve report data through the QuickBooks module in Integromat / Make. - Unpack nested rows
Separate account headers, detail rows and section summaries. - Restore report order
Aggregate headers, detail and summary rows into an ordered HTML table. - Google Sheets staging
Create a spreadsheet from the transformed report. - Formatted Excel output
Write values into existing rows so the template formatting remains in place. - Header checks & recovery
Check for missing headers and re-add them in the later recorded version.

04 / Contribution & scope
Built and tested.
With clear boundaries.
Noah explained and configured the report transformation, copied a scenario into the client’s Integromat account and linked its QuickBooks module. The recorded tests cover report order, template formatting and missing-header handling. A separate walkthrough explains per-client connection setup.
The work covered report transformation, testing and connection setup. Client Drive permissions, differences between test and client accounts, and inconsistent source headers required further work before a full rollout.
Noah’s contribution focused on the reporting workflow and integrations, rather than bookkeeping or tax services.
