Cloud Security Labs / Project case study

2021Recorded work

Publish the article once.
Prepare the newsletter
from it.

Cloud Security Labs wanted to reuse published articles and useful links in its newsletter. The workflow prepared an email campaign from those sources, with formatting, sending and account handover handled as distinct steps.

Tools & working context

Project scope and implementation.

  • Substack / RSS
  • Mailchimp
  • HTML templates
  • Make / Integromat
  • Bookmarked resources

01 / Business context

The problem
to solve.

Reusing an article in a newsletter still involves formatting, link collection and campaign setup. Repeating those steps by hand can leave the email disconnected from the source and make each weekly issue a separate assembly task.

The build combined article content and the week’s saved resources into a prepared email campaign. Social-publishing work remained a separate, unfinished extension.

Inside the workflow

A closer look
at the handoffs.

Start with the main path and its branches. Select a step for context, or switch to the technical map for implementation detail.

  • Published article feed
Historical Substack RSS supplies the article content for the issue.
  • Weekly bookmark collection
The curator saves resources in a folder for the useful-links section.
  • Assemble the HTML issue
Format the article and append the collected weekly links.
  • Prepared Mailchimp campaign
Create campaign content and choose its audience.
  • Clear used weekly links
Empty the collection after including those resources in the prepared issue.
  • Client review and send
One handover leaves the prepared campaign for the client to send.
Read the workflow notes
  1. 01 / Collect

Take in the article and weekly links

An RSS article supplied the main content. A separate collection held useful resources gathered during the week for inclusion in the issue.

  2. 02 / Compose

    Build the email content

The scenario inserted the article into an HTML email structure, appended the useful links and cleared the weekly resource collection after using it.

  3. 03 / Prepare

    Create the campaign context

The walkthrough describes creating the Mailchimp campaign and choosing its audience. One version included a weekly Sunday schedule; a separate handover prepared a draft for the client to send.

The recorded configurations do not establish a confirmed send, reliable recurring operation or a universal approval stage.

03 / Implementation detail

Reuse the content.
Prepare the campaign.

Article intake and resource collection were different inputs. Combining them at assembly time made the core article reusable while preserving a place for the week’s curated links.

The walkthroughs show the campaign setup and client handover, but not a complete run followed by confirmation that the email arrived.

In some recordings, the client still needed to connect accounts and send the campaign. A scheduled version and a prepared draft were separate versions of the work, not one verified unattended service.

Related pitches describe broader syndication, but two walkthroughs explicitly leave Twitter, LinkedIn and Medium work unfinished. Those extensions are excluded from the delivered scope here.

04 / Outcome & scope

Result
and scope.

The configured process combines a published article and weekly links into a prepared newsletter, with instructions for the client’s next steps.

The scope was newsletter assembly and campaign setup. Final sending remained a client action in the handover version.
